Information Packets

What do I need in order to be registered and guarantee a spot?

A.

  1. Online registration guarantees your entry of camp. An email will be sent upon receipt of payment with a confirmation number and additional information about camp. Please note, there is an online credit card processing fee associated with online registration.
  2. A completed medical release and a copy of the campers insurance card (Front and Back) must be submitted prior to participation in any camp. For online registrants, to submit your forms, follow these steps:
    1. Click the Log In Here button at the top of the page.
    2. Use the same log in information you used to initially register for camp.
    3. Click the Proceed to My Account button or the Account button at the top of the page.
    4. Click the "Files" button which corresponds with the order from camp.
    5. Click the "Browse" button and select the file you wish to upload.
    6. Click the "Upload" button and that's it! The file will automatically be uploaded to the player profile for camp.

Will there be a trainer on site?

A.

A certified athletic trainer will be at each facility, during all sessions, for each camp. Should you need to see the trainer before any session arrive 15 minutes early.

What do I need to know about Overnight camps?

A.

Overnight campers will stay in residence halls on Grounds at The University of Virginia. Meals will be served at UVA dining halls. Overnight camp registration includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, starting with dinner on Day 1 and ending with breakfast on Day 4. Commuter camp registration includes lunch and dinner each day, starting with dinner on Day 1 and ending with dinner on Day 3. Commuters, please make sure you eat Breakfast before coming to camp in the morning.

What is the difference between the Cavalier Camp and the Wahoo camp?

A.

The Wahoo camp is open to attendees of the Cavalier Camp but is only 3-days long. The idea behind the 3-day format is to serve as an opportunity for families that cannot commit to the 4-day camp, and/or may not be able to afford the 4-day camp. Campers will receive the same great training but in a shorter format.

What training facilities are used for camp?

A.

All camps take place on Grounds of the University of Virginia. Aquatic Fitness Center (AFC), Memorial Gymnasium, North Grounds, and Slaughter Gymnasium are all used.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

A.

A $100 deposit is non-refundable in the case of any cancellation for any camp. Refunds (less deposit) are available until two weeks prior to the start of camp. Online Processing fee is not refundable.

Is there a shuttle from the airport if I fly in from out of town?

A.

You have a couple options if you fly in from out of town and need transportation from the Charlottesville-Albermarle Airport (CHO) to grounds. You can take a cab to campus, an uber®, or lyft®. The airport is small, yet still has good rates and multiple hubs to fly in from.

What should I bring to camp?

A.

A general checklist: Multiple pairs of Spandex, multiple t-shirts, multiple pairs of underwear/sports bras, knee pads, socks, court shoes (sneakers), backpack, deodorant, sandals, umbrella. Overnight campers be sure to bring: alarm clock, phone charger, soap/shampoo, towel, toothbrush/paste, pj's, money for snacks, and a pillow.

Should I bring extra cash?

A.

There will be apparel available for purchase at camp. There will also be a camp store to purchase snacks, Gatorade®, bottled water, etc. Please bring cash in case you need a snack between sessions or a pizza after the evening session. Group pizza orders will be made each night at the request of campers. Cavalier Volleyball Camps is not responsible for lost or stolen money.

Can I request multiple roommates?

A.

Yes, NEW FOR 2018, you can! This year with the switch to Gooch-Dilliard, there will be up to 4- requested roommates in each room. If you wish to room together, PLEASE list each other (Full Name) in the space for roommate’s request e.g. Lucy is registering and lists Aaron, Stephanie, and Mel. Mel would list Aaron, Stephanie, and Lucy. Now, if you do not make a request for a roommate we will do our best to place you with similar aged campers.

If you attend multiple camps you will not move dorms (if we can help it). Campers staying between the Cavalier Volleyball Camp and the Wahoo Volleyball Camp will have the option to stay in the dorms overnight (there will be dorm supervision) for a 1 time additional cost of $28 dollars payable at check-in. Please email Homeyer.2@virginia.edu should you need to make arrangements.

Are the dorms air conditioned?

A.

Yes! Don't worry about the heat this summer. This year's dormitories will be air conditioned.

How are the girls monitored throughout camp?

A.

Camp Counselors stay overnight in dorms and bed checks are done routinely each night. Campers will meet at Slaughter Gymnasium (home base) before each session. Slaughter Gym is located right next to the Alderman Road Housing, which is where the dormitory is located. Counselors will walk campers from Slaughter Gym to one of 3 facilities used for camp and then will be walked back to the dorm or dining hall when the session ends. When campers walk to and from Slaughter for the start of a session, or to the dining hall (also located next to the dormitory), campers are required to walk with a buddy or small group.

How do I register via mail-in registration?

A.

Print the 2018 Cavalier Volleyball Camp Brochure and fill out the registration portion, detach (making sure you've selected the appropriate camp, contact information, and roommate - if necessary), and mail-in along with a check made out to Cavalier Volleyball Camp for at least $100 to hold your place to:

Please make checks payable to Cavalier Volleyball Camps, and note, “Deposit” along with your campers name in the memo section of the check.
Remaining amount is due two weeks prior to the start of your chosen camp.

Are there discounts for attending multiple camps?

A.

Cavalier Volleyball Camps does not offer discounts for campers attending multiple camps.

Can I purchase apparel using a Credit Card?

A.

New this year will be the option to pre-order (plus a small processing fee) apparel for Cavalier Volleyball Camp. Unfortunately, we will be unable to collect CC during camp. If you order online, your gear will be available for pick-up at the start of your camp! Look for the online order in Late April through June.

The NCAA prohibits free/reduced admission for prospect-aged individuals.
